YOU MAY REMOVE THAT PROTECTOR. *** DOES NOT INCLUDE THE WIRELESS DONGLE FOR COMMUNICATION WITH THE VEHICLE, the OBDII component/dongle was lost. *** IMPORTANT ********* My understanding is that the dongle is needed to establish communication with the vehicle, therefore, you are buying the scanner knowing that you will need a new dongle. ****************************** The latest update it received is unknown. Unit in good condition, lightly used. Has tempered glass screen protector installed since it was new. The scanner works well, we stopped using because we lost the dongle and since we have many other scanners we didn't pursue trying to get a new dongle.
