Description: Late Viking Era Sword - Practice SK-B Late Viking Era Sword - Practice SK-B During the High Middle Ages, Viking swords began to lose some of their distinctive features, such as the broad, sharp blades and lobed pommels. Instead, they began to resemble more closely the long swords that became popular in the Middle Ages. This replica is faithful to the original, although it has replaced the lobed pommel with the shape of a Brazil nut and has thinned and extended the short, thick guard of the previous arms, giving it a characteristic medieval cruciform shape. The sword is exclusively handmade, with the blade hand riveted to the pommel and the hilt bound with leather. The blade, made of spring steel, is oil tempered to approximately 48° Rockwell and features a distinctive fuller, giving it great flexibility and lower weight. The blade edges are blunt and the tip is rounded for safety. In addition, it features a beautiful leather-lined wooden scabbard with a wooden belt loop (with a maximum width of 5 cm) and a richly ornamented brass cape. Details: Overall length: approx. 95 cm.
