Description: Very large Simon Halbig 1009 one of the most beautiful, classic German dolls made to compete with the French market. She has a wonderful bisque socket head with original brown sleep eyes, painted upper and lower lashes, feathered brows, an open mouth with four square-cut upper teeth, pierced ears, and a dimpled chin on a beautifully molded face. She stands at 29” tall on her original antique fully jointed wood and composition body and wears her original antique light brown mohair wig in loose curls pinned back by two gold barrettes. She wears an antique whitework dress trimmed with a celery green ribbon, full-slip, drawstring pantaloons, long black cotton stockings, black oilcloth shoes, white crochet bonnet, and pink rose earrings. Condition: She has a perfect bisque head except for cooking cracks behind both ears, and missing eyelid wax. Her original composition body has damage to the right foot and leg, and some paint loss at the joints as shown in photos.
