Originally built for transporting cargo between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans around Cape Horn by the Bath firm of Goss, Sawyer & Packard, she was typical of the superbly designed, finely crafted “Down Easters” or “Cape Horners” of the late nineteenth century built to carry cargoes around Cape Horn between America’s Atlantic and Pacific ports. It hand crafted and painted using mostly carved wood and stringsIt has many fine, intricate details throughout Please note that the bowsprit is broken, and the foremast is broken in the middle (see last photo) Approximate dimensions are: 22" long, 8.5" wide, and 18" tall This is a finely crafted, high quality model.
