Description: Up for bid is a wonderful vintage Halloween postcard. I'm certain that Samuel Schmucker, one of the most prolific and talented artists of vintage holiday Winsch postcards, has provided this wonderful lithographic illustration of a lovely post-Victorian era lady wearing a shroud and holding a jack 'o-lantern. Two owls can be seen perched on one of the nearby tree branches as the full moon rises over the horizon behind them. When you supersize image 1 you can see how Schmucker has wonderfully captured the moment. The artistry is exceptional and the colors are still vivid. Printed in pre-WWI Germany by John Winsch in 1911, this beautifully embossed card has not been posted and has no handwriting on the divided "Winsch" back.
