Description: An interesting piece from the end of WWII. Even though Japan had surrendered on September 2, 1945, price controls were still in effect in the Untied States (with some existing into 1947), as evidenced by this menu. Menu from La Louisiane French Restaurant, 2632 Broadway, San Antonio, Texas. The menu has three rubber stamped inscriptions on the cover: "SEP 14 1945," a "Compliments of . . ." stamp, and a stamp noting that "All prices are our ceiling prices or below. The ceiling is based on prices charged by us from April 4-10, 1943. Our menus or price lists for that week are here for your inspection." Measures 12 inches by 8 1/2 inches, ribbon binds 4- page (single sheet) menu into the cover. Stains on inside of menu, and three photo-mounting corners inside rear cover (fourth one missing). Pictures are of the actual item you will receive. USPS shipping via first class mail with tracking. Payment due within four days of purchase. You may return the item for any reason provided it is returned in the same condition as shipped to you. I generally ship the same day if I receive payment by noon Eastern time otherwise I ship the next day. I combine shipping if you purchase more than one item from me and I can ship in a single shipment. Please do not immediately pay for the first item you win but contact me so that I know to wait before sending you an invoice for all your purchases. Combined shipping is possible only if I can send you one invoice for your purchases.
