Description: Kerttu Kyllikki Salmenhaara (1915–1981) was born in the rural parish of Tyrnävä, Finland. She was one of the most prominent ceramic artists of her time and worked, among other things, as an artist for the Arabia ceramics factory. Salmenhaara worked as an artist, designer, lecturer, and teacher. She also founded her own ceramics school. Salmenhaara was the first artist in Finland to be appointed professor of applied arts, and she received several awards for her work. This rare and beautifully illustrated exhibition publication was released in conjunction with an exhibition held in Düsseldorf in 1986.
