Description: Vintage 1990s Kosta Boda Sweden Handblown Art Glass Candleholder. Designed & Handpainted by Ulrica Hydman-Vallien. From her Heart Collection. Ulrica Hydman-Vallien (1938-2018) was one of Sweden’s best known glass artists. Kosta Boda has called her “the embodiment of Swedish glass art.” She is known for painting her powerful designs straight onto the glass with "unrestrained energy." She was married to fellow artist Bertil Vallien. This small but substantial handblown art glass candleholder was handpainted with a whimsical, modern red and black heart by Hydman-Vallien. It also has a few blue and green flourishes. The clear glass is thick and heavy for its size - 2 lb 2 oz. Dimensions are approximate. 2-3/4 inches opening diameter, 5 inches high. Inside the top opening is a smaller opening for a candle - it's about 3/4 inch diameter and 1-1/4 inches deep. Excellent condition with some lovely bubbles "floating" within the thick glass.
