These are New Stock made from the original mould casting of the Mosaic Tile Company of Zanesville, Ohio…1894-1967 From Kovels: Mosaic Tile Company of Zanesville, Ohio, was started by Karl Langerbeck and Herman Mueller in 1894. Frederick Hurten Rhead, the famous potter, worked at Mosaic Tile Company from 1922 to 1923. Many types of plain and ornamental tiles were made until 1959. The company closed in 1967. Measures approx. 6-3/8 inches tall X 6-3/8 inches wide. Total Depth is 3-1/2 inches. Recessed portion is 3-1/4 inches This is a surface mount to be installed over the field tile (semi-flush) and not flush with it. There is about 3/16 inch overlay on the surrounding field tile. Depth needed for installation is 3-1/4 inch from finished surface Projection from finished surface is 1/4 inches. Items are very lightly marked: Mosaic & model #BA720, made in the U.S.A.
