At 108 troy ounces, this is a large pair absolutely feels substantial when held.These ewers are a matched pair with matching scenes and factory stamps. No doubt their "born on" dates are the side by side. This set was well cared for through the years and appears to have never been over polished.Both ewers have an open cartouche as pictured. The metal in these areas is very thick, the repousse detail surrounding the cartouches is very sharp and I can see no pattern of previous activity with the "breath test." With that said, I do not feel there has been any removals.To be very discerning as to condition, one ewer has the slightest wobble to the base. There is no deformation of the base nor any evidence of compression. To give an idea as to how slight, a piece of typing paper folded over stabilizes the wobble. This is mentioned for full disclosure.I am currently downsizing my collection where this item may also be listed in other markets.
