Description: These paintings were commissioned by my mother, Nancy for my40th birthday. She and I both loved they style of the native American artists in the Oklahoma vicinity. Nancy had a close friend that connected her with Larry Big Bow for the commission in 1998, as they both lived in Oklahoma City. She originally requested a single painting reflecting the spiritual nature of the Shaman to fit my interests. When she met Larry to receive the painting, in great surprise, Larry had painted three paintings (shown above) instead of the one. Larry told her the shaman idea inspired him to expand the idea, and that “they all go together,” yet he didn't name them, instead saying "they will mean what every they need to" as they're viewed. I've always call them "The Healers." We have had them in our family ever since, yet it is time for them to find a new home, and continuing the wishes of the artist, they are sold “all together.” About Larry Big Bow Larry Big Bow (1935 – 2007) a Kiowa artist from Oklahoma, son of famous artist Woody Big Bow and great grandson of Kiowa Chief Big Bow.
