Description: Kakiemon Ware Porcelain Japan Rice Bowl Bird Floral Set of 5 in Wood Display Box Originally available for purchase at the National Museum of Natural History gift shop, these Japanese bowls in a box have the delicate coloring and typical motif of flowers, birds and butterflies that are associated with Kakiemon wares. Five bowls are included because the Japanese consider uneven numbers lucky in a set. The painted box, a decorative stand for the bowls, shows Japanese emphasis on the art of packaging and presenting gifts. The bowls appear to have been used for display only and are in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or scratching noted. The bowls measure 4-1/2” in diameter x 2” tall. The box measures 12-1/2” long x 5” wide x 5” deep. It has some scratches to the paint but is otherwise in very good condition. Please see all photos as they are part of the description and message with any questions prior to purchase. Thanks for looking!
