Sponsored by the USOC, ACOG and the Department of the Treasury, US Mint, this conference was open only to the Press (not open to the public). This is where the 1996 Olympic coin set was unveiled and the US Mint passed out these packets. Only 100 packets made. This is the definitive resource of everything about this 16 coin set. That evening, I placed the complete packet in a plastic bag and stored it in a box. It stayed there until last week when I ran across it and realized it's importance. This packet includes: press releases from the United States Olympic Committee, the Atlanta Committee of the Olympic Games and the US Mint - slick photos of all 16 coins - slides - coin designs and specifications - Public Law 102-390 Oct. 6, 1992 - custom folder - much more. (complete packet) please refer to my poorly taken photos. All documents, photos (16), slides (4) are in pristine condition - no marks, folds, etc... (one document, the printing on the back of the plastic slide sleeve transferred some printing onto the front of the document - see photo). The folder is a little banged up on the edges but no marks, tears, water stains or writing. Truly, an unbelievable set of Olympic History. If you are a serious Olympic collector, this packet is a must because it includes all artwork made public by the US Mint and all the documents that prove the legality of the coins.
