Description: Please read & note: This is a Rights holding DVD created & produced by me and is not factory made or sealed. I strive to produce the best DVD's possible from the sometimes VERY old Public Domain material. Films that are public domain are unpreserved and not professionally re-mastered. I re-master all of my films myself to the best possible quality achievable. My DVDs are not the quality of todays Modern DVDs or Bluray discs. If you are looking for this kind of quality then these discs are not for you. All pictures are actual screen captures from the DVDs. Please note this when purchasing, but also know that all of the films are very watchable. To keep my prices as low as possible all my DVDs are delivered in plain paper DVD sleeves and the DVDs title will be labeled on the back of the DVD envelope. This way you can write the contents of the DVD on the DVD yourself if you want to. (See picture). All of my DVD's come with a menu for easy film selection. Total runtime of this DVD is 50 minutes. Item specifics are: Film 1: "Junior Prom" (1946) COLOR Runtime 21 minutes Goofus and Gallant take their best girls to a junior prom. The whole thing is presided over by a very didactic narrator. You don't even get to really experience Goofus' etiquette violations, because you never get to actually hear what the characters are saying to each other, you just have to take the narrator's word that Goofus screwed up again. This is a little less mean than some other films of its type, though, because often Gallant steps in and corrects Goofus before he has a chance to make any big-time gaffes. There are a few bizarre moments, such as the narrator telling Goofus that at formal affairs men wear dark clothes in order to set off the women's colorful gowns, and that this is an example of "treating her the way you'd like to be treated" or one of the girls telling the other she is wearing too much jewelry over the phone, before she's even seen her..... Dorky fun! Film 2: "The Prom: It's A Pleasure!" (1961) COLOR Runtime 17 minutes The 1961 Coca Cola Junior Miss (read a lower tier Miss America) explains to us the proper etiquette of how to go to a prom. Her date of course, Dick. He phones Junior Miss up, and gets the date. Before the prom, he carefully phones up her prom to find out what she's wearing so that he can get the matching corsage. Soon, they're off to the dance, where the women have these neat little schedules so they can all fit in all the men who want to dance, which is sort of odd. More rules are given, Boy leads to the dance floor, how to ask for a dance without embarrassing a girl, and of course, going to the snack table, which is strewn with Coke, to appease the sponsor of the piece. Soon, the dance ends, and Son and Junior Miss go home, then Dick says a whopper of a statement: "I had fun tonight, I think it was because of you!" THINK? OUCH! Recommended! Film 3: "Your Junior High Days" (1963) B&W Runtime 12 minutes This film prepares elementary school kids for the harsh lessons of junior high: You will no longer be the smartest or best athlete. Your carefree days of the teacher holding your hand are over. Your friends will leave you to befriend more interesting kids. You can be an individual by following the interests and clothing styles of the popular people. And finally, you are responsible for remembering your own gym locker combination.
