Description: This 1984 German import stereo 2LP box set from Deutsche Grammophon (2707 044) features the performance of Die Schöpfung (The Creation) by Joseph Haydn. Featured vocalists include Gundula Janowitz (Soprano), Christa Ludwig (Alto), Fritz Wunderlich (Tenor), Werner Krenn (Tenor), Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau (Baritone) and Walter Berry (Bass). They are accompanied by the Wiener Singverein and Berliner Philharmoniker, conducted by Herbert von Karajan. Album notes in the large (album-sized) 22-page booklet are in German, English and French, written by Irmgard Becker-Glauch, accompanied by period illustrations and the libretto in three languages. Also included is a review of the album from the October, 1984 issue of Gramophone magazine. There is a small index sticker in the upper right corner of the back (Photo 2), from when the set was acquired for this private collection.
