He began his artistic career on the streets of New York City and spent many decades in the Miami area before moving to Asheville, North Carolina, in 2007. He is a self-taught painter. With techniques honed over a lifetime as a working artist, his work is not aimed at intellectual perception; it is aimed at the human heart. His best paintings are those created intuitively with an effortlessness of experience. Good structure, composition and color are achieved without struggle, resulting in the expression of feeling into action, essence of color, and push; and pull forms.
