Description: Oh my word the utter cuteness of this piece. No matter where you look there is something to make you smile. It is darling. First, it is by Jon Herbert who is an English artist. There is a sticker on the bottom and his name is on the piece as well. This is from a series called the Shoemaker's Dream. All the houses in the series are shoes - think the little old woman that lived in a shoe only each house is a different theme and style of shoe. This is the round toed boot which is fitting as this is a Clown House. Now, initially I thought how cute a little Tahitian cottage. And frankly, had it been just that it would have been so cute, but Oh NO this little house is so much more special. You can see in the pictures that thatched roof that looks so islandy is really designed to mimic clown hair. The front door smiles at you with a clown face of little windows a bulbous door knob and smiling mail slot. The shrubbery and flower filled gardens around the house are darling. But, look closer because there are topiaries joyfully hidden. One is a wind up mouse while another is big flower just like the one that shoots water on a clown lapel. There is also a clown car topiary. The detail is amazing. There are cobblestone walks and tiny flowers. The chimney has bricks all beautifully carved and arched windows are throughout. In fact, all the design and details make you almost forget that there is a shoe that is the frame of all the goodness. It is just amazing. Happy Shopping!
