Description: I am listing a large number of these wonderful children's magazines from the early 20th century. They are lavishly illustrated in a 1920s Art Deco style. Lots of work went in these magazines --- that are hard to find in any condition. I had never seen them before I obtained this large lot. Martin and his publishing crew seem to have captured what young children would like to read about and see in their early reading experiences. The covers are all well designed and beautiful --- almost all are holiday-themed for the month they are representing ---- Fourth of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter etc. The Halloween ones are particularly cool. The back covers are all Colgate Toothpaste ads, but designed in the same editorial style. One odd thing I noticed, is that Martin was big on cats. Very few dogs to be seen. No comment on that national divide from me ---- I am a dog AND cat lover -- and have both. I just noticed the trend across the magazines. All of these are in what I deem as "good minus" to "fair" condition. All have heavy yellowing and some edge darkening. They were dug out of a barn so they are intact and flat, but I think that the edges were exposed. Plus the magazines are printed on that cheap thick paper that was popular back then and not the slick finished paper that higher end mags were printed on. The paper almost always shows up heavily yellowed. They will be sold as is for condition, unless I really screwed up. Yes. I will combine shipping. Buy what you want and pay. I have a large inventory of vintage paper: auto manuals, military paper, railroad stuff, food and recipe paper, political pamphlets, oddball magazines, entertainment paper --- just about any paper you can think of. Some of it is in perfect shape and some is in rough condition. Things to look out for in the photos are page yellowing, corner bumping, rips and tears, handwriting, etc. --- normal flaws in old paper. If it appears to be a single page booklet or foldout. ---- and not a 100 page item ---- it probably is a single page booklet or foldout. 3. Carefully examine my studio-quality photographs. I do my best to document any flaws or issues. I tend to go overboard in showing flaws. I hate surprises when I buy on eBay as much as you do. I also do my best to accurately describe the items I find. 4. I basically sell "As Is." That said, I will accept returns if I have been negligent in my listing information. This includes outright mistakes, misrepresentations, or any errors on my part. I do not know everything about everything (don't tell my kids that please). If you are not sure about something and want to "try it out" at home before having "Buyer's remorse," please do not bid. Every auction or estate sale I go to is "as is."
