Description: Description: Up for sale is a beautiful John Maddock & Sons Majestic Multicolored (Smooth Edge) Royal Vitreous Single (1) Flat Tea Cup (Design Inside). At the time this listing was written, multiple place setting pieces, serving pieces, and extra pieces were available in this pattern, so be sure and check out my many other lots! The flat tea cup measures approximately 2.125” in height, and is marked with, or with a slight variation of the following backstamp: “Maddock, England”. The piece has a white/cream base with a multicolor floral pattern, a smooth rim, and a gold trim/verge. The pattern has been discontinued with the years of manufacture unknown, though the pieces are believed to have been manufactured during the very late 1800s or very early 1900s. Condition: Please note that the flat tea cups are not “like new” and may show signs of use/wear as described below. The flat tea cups were acquired as part of a much larger set with little history known; however, no major condition issues (such as chips, cracks, or crazing) were noticed upon a thorough inspection. The flat tea cups do show moderate signs of use including: utensil scratches/marks, imperfections to the gold rim/verge, age spots/staining, cleaning scratches/swirling, grey markings and/or light staining, and/or flea bites/pitting along the base and rim. Please also note that there may also be some light variation in the intensity of color, or small variations of item measurements between pieces throughout this set. Overall, I feel that the condition of this items appear fairly consistent with the expectations of items that are likely 115+ years old.
