The dummy is a true piece of folk art, crafted with care and attention to detail in the United States. It has a vintage charm that collectors of all ages will appreciate. Made by Juro Novelty, this puppet was one of several beloved dummies by the legendary Paul Winchell, adding to its historical significance. Original Clothes included. Juro Novelty Company plastic ventriloquist doll using the head mold of Paul Winchell's Jerry Mahoney, known as a "red hair Jerry Mahoney." It is in very good condition for its age. During Juro's heyday, they produced a larger, 32" version of Jerry Mahoney, made in the same manner as a professional ventriloquist puppet, with a hollow body and detachable head mounted on a wooden post. Paul Winchell was unhappy with how the quality of Juro's Jerry Mahoneys went down in later years. In 1966 he terminated his contract with Juro because of this. After the break-up, Juro began producing unauthorized 32" Jerrys. The first version of these Jerrys were almost exactly the same. The second version had brown hair instead of red hair. Please see all photos for reference and additional information. The detachable head is in good condition. The mouth works by pulling the string. The hollow body is also in very good condition. The clothes have some age-related light stains. I have not removed the clothing. The shoes are original.
