In good condition: solid, square binding; black illustration and lettering on front and spine are clear; exterior has overall worn appearance, some discoloration/spotting on covers, hinges, spine and edges; corners are a bit bumped. Interior is very good, with no tears, chips or other significant damage; a few small spots of discoloration here and there, mostly very faint; there are small but prominent brown spots at the bottoms of pages 78-88 and 280-286, not affecting text or illustrations; final free endpaper has two large corner folds; previous owner's signature at top corner of inside front cover. Illustrations are in great condition, especially the color frontispiece. While it's not difficult to find modern print-on-demand copies of this classic Western novel, original editions, especially first printings, are hard to come by.
