Description: Jardur Bezelmeter Model 960, c.1945. This is a beautiful watch that was popular among US WW2 pilots. The watch features a Valjoux 72 movement, as well as a special design- the external rotating bezel that can be used as a countdown thanks to its inverted 12h graduation. Additionally, the second feature is the scale of degrees on the dial from 0 to 180. Aircraft have control parameters to produce a standard turn of 3 degrees per second, for example if the pilot wishes to make a 75 degree turn the stopwatch is started and for every second that passes the aircraft will make its 3 degree turn so after 25 seconds the hand will point to the 75, the turn will be made. 38mm stainless steel case, screw back. Service history unknown, but good timekeeper. Chrono works properly and resets crisply, and to zero. Dial appears to have been expertly restored at some point. Dial signed “Jardur”, “Antimagnetic”, and “Waterproof”. Movement and inner caseback signed “Pilgrim Electric Corp”, as it should be. US Import code IXK. Case number 51066. Shipping cost includes proper packaging and insurance for full value. International sales via eBay International Shipping only.
