Description: A very generous sized 12" diameter beautiful Awaji Ware pottery bowl, planter or ikebana vase in creamy ivory color with fine crackle finish under glaze. Has three feet. Likely dates to 1950's or earlier. Classic Japanese minimalism that exemplifies the mid-century modern aesthetic. Made in Japan. 12" diameter to outer edge. Opening is 9" diameter. Height is 3 1/2". Beautifully proportioned and finely made. In excellent condition, apart from discoloration in the bottom from a ring of florist's putty that held a flower frog to the bowl.
