Description: I call this an intermediate smoothing plane. The dai/body has has been cleaned, lapped, and waxed. The dai mouth has been corrected for a proper blade fit. The dai sole has been relieved in the traditional Japanese manner. The back of the blade has been lapped flat. The bevel has been trued and sharpened to 6000 grit. It will pass the straight down paper cut test. You can also shave with it. Both the blade and chip breaker are signed by the blacksmith. The chip breaker was corrected and the bevel was sharpened to the proper 60/20 angles. The blade and chip breaker were coated with traditional Japanese style camellia oil to prevent resting.
