Description: This lovely porcelain lidded Ginger Jar was made in Japan for import to the United States. It's handpainted floral design features a large Peacock and Gold Gilt detailing. Gilted Cinnamon colored bands encircled jar collar and lid. The jar was imported by Heygill Imports of Charleston, SC. Heygill was founded by James Heyward White in 1961 and operated until the mid 1980s. This dates this Ginger Jar to that time period.
