Description: This listing is for a truly remarkable, artisan crafted, tiny, delicate rose and floral arrangement in a handwoven basket, made by Jane Winston Kilkenny. It consists of nine tiny blossoms (dark rose in color) mixed with dark green leaves and additional tiny bud-like flowers. The floral arrangement is beautifully designed and sits in a small hand woven basket with a twisted handle. The basket is trimmed with ivory lace and a lush dark mauve satin ribbon & bow.Jane was an amazing artisan who made her arrangements with real, very tiny, roses from Spain. Her label describes her product as follows: "These tiny roses are perfect in every detail because they are real. Hybridized in Spain, this is the tiniest rose in the world." I believe the piece was crafted in the late 1980s!This particular piece comes in its original package: a clear acrylic cube with two Kilkenny labels, one including her signature and one that shows that her business was based in California, and (on the reverse side) explaining the history of the roses. I believe this is New Old Stock, and ... amazingly ... when you remove the acrylic cube cover, you can actually smell the roses!! The arrangement is absolutely stunning! I think it could work in a half-scale (1:24) setting, but would also be perfect as a small arrangement in a full-scale (1:12 scene).
