Description: An original poster issued by the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1967, to advertise the Jackson Pollock exhibition which took place from April 5 to June 4 of that year. The poster seems to be somewhat scarce today; I was not able to find another available copy in a quick online search. Pollock is perhaps the pre-eminent figure of the Abstract Expressionist movement, his so-called "drip" paintings now among the most coveted in the world of art. The poster measures 31 1/2" by 23 3/4" and is presently in a metal frame without glass; it was affixed to cardboard long ago so cannot be rolled in a tube for shipping. While traveling without protective glass, careless previous owners managed to damage it, with pronounced scrapes at the bottom portion, as shown. There is a smaller dig in the image portion at top but it is essentially invisible among the imagery, and there are some other minor scuffs. The new owner has various options----hang it like it is, try to repair the digs, or, mat out the bottom portion so that "JACKSON POLLOCK" is at the bottom.
