First, it is an early and vintage/original portrait (8x10 black and white glossy finish) photograph of iconic film and television actor, painter, musician and singer, and WWII veteran--sadly deceased ultra-renaissance man, JACK LORD.Second, this photo is hand signed on the backside (in pencil) by the late, great Jack Lord. This glorious find comes straight from the files of noted Hollywood columnist Jess L. Hoaglin (now deceased) who wrote for “The Hollywood Reporter” and various news outlets and industry publications for over half a century!! Attached is a sample copy of one of Hoaglin's columns (not included in this auction).This photo was part of Hoaglin's vast collection of resume photos and head shots that the columnist kept on file to supplement his celebrity interviews in print media. It is apparent that Hoaglin, being a fan and collector himself, had the common practice of having his interviewees autograph the backs of his photos. In so doing, he was able to accumulate and maintain his collection and still keep the front of the photos intact for media utilization.Mr. Lord, beneath his signature, kindly added the name of the film he was working on at the time, and generously included the name of the studio (MGM). Photo has a light crease at top edge and is in Very Good/Excellent Condition; Mr. Lord's Signature/Writing are intact and in Excellent Condition!
