Description: JABO Kokomo Marble Collector SeriesRare Kokomo Base Glass w/FlamesMINT Run Date: 4/6/10 This JABO Kokomo run used a very unusual and rare glass for this prototype run. It was from the Kokomo Glass company and was considered a "Boutique" run of marbles. Dave and his glass technicians often made experimental runs to learn more about their technical glass craft and this was an example of this. The coefficient of thermal expansion (COE) and other material attributes needed to be understood if they were to use this special glass in the future. This is the only contract run that I know of that used this special glass. For this reason, we have a very collectable marble in my opinion. This particular Kokomo marble is quite an exceptional example for a couple of the reasons: first of all, the overall quality of this marble is very high with no surface defects and excellent concentricity (roundness). Secondly, those sparkling green aventurine flames are simply delicious. Not many marble from this run had such beautiful aventurine glass and even fewer had the flames. Don't miss those outstanding big flakes of green aventurine glass that just add to how special this Kokomo is. Overall, this can be considered a special keeper and great representative piece of the Kokomo run. I try my best to take high resolution pictures with flash to show exactly what you are getting. I use a Canon Rebel DSLR camera with built-in flash to show all the fine details of the marble. I try to rotate the marble to give multiple views. This marble was manufactured using the 3/4" machine and the size of this particular marble is a nice 0.755" in diameter measured with electronic calipers. Note: please excuse any reflections due to my camera work...there are no flaws on this marble.
