Description: Offered is a heavy dagger with a stainless (I think) blade 9 13/16" x 1 3/8" at its widest x 5/32" thick through the central spine and nearly full-length hidden tang. The tang is notched to forever grip the high-impact epoxy that secures it into a hilt consisting of a birch haft and a pommel and guard of walnut. Like everything I built, this knife is not designed or even possible to disassemble, short of literally chiseling and beating the thing to pieces. In appearance and bulk/strength, this one is suitable for serious events and use, both, the stainless blade being the only cost-driven anachronism. The finish of the blade is a little rough -- everything of mine is. What I built is in keeping with what commoners could most easily have afforded, in whatever time period you please, and though the blades are re-worked to be legitimately new the whole presentation is intended to be that of a used-daily, well-cared-for weapon. The knife is sharp, so -- careful, please. The sheath is sturdy leather, trimmed down from a shortsword scabbard I have several of and have never found a blade to fit. I'm including the twice-pictured remnant of the original belt loop; attach it as you please to the sheath or simply rig metal rings for suspending from a belt or baldric.
