Specified at Raku Pottery, the name Denny Young is well known in the art community for his artisan skills and the items he created or helped create in his lifetime. The vase is in good condition, does show some wear consistent with age use and storing. It's perfect for adding a touch of elegance to any room. This piece is a must-have for collectors and enthusiasts alike. Don't miss the opportunity to own a piece of art that is both beautiful and unique. This piece is titled “Homage to Harold Balaz” A little about Denny Young Posthumous Booth at Art on the Green: Dennis Young, or Denny to his friends, was a charter member/exhibitor of Art on the Green. He had a pottery booth in the first Art on the Green 45 years ago, and participated in every Art on the Green festival since. For the last two decades, Denny Young and Jeff Harris (another potter from the Spokane area) had booths next to each other and fired raku pottery at Art on the Green. Every year there was a crowd when they opened the kiln; the firings were a big attraction at the festival. It was “artist in action” at its best! Denny Young passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in December. He is greatly missed by his family and art friends, and he will be missed at Art on the Green. This year there will be a posthumous booth for Denny at the festival (organized by his fellow potter Jeff Harris, and supported by Denny’s daughter Britt and son Nick), and proceeds will go toward the Forever Young fund in his honor. It will mean a great deal to Denny’s family and friends to see him honored at the first Art on the Green in 45 years that he won’t be attending. As importantly, there will be many other artists who are regular exhibitors at the show and hundreds of patrons of the festival who will be expecting to see Denny again at his booth this year. (Denny was a very established member of the Inland Northwest artist community, as well as being a very well-known architect of many Spokane buildings, restaurants and the West Central Community Center.) Please stop by the Denny Young Memorial Booth at Art on the Green and join us in celebrating his life and art.
