Description: Winter landscape with house and outbuildings by George A. Renouard (1885-1954), listed New York artist, oil on canvas, 18" by 22", unsigned, period painted finish frame, possibly original, 23 5/8" by 27 3/4". Although unsigned, as many of his works were, I guaranteed this to be by Renouard, and those familiar with his work will easily identify his signature palette and brushwork. He lived most of his life in the New York City area, taught at Art Students League of New York, and exhibited National Academy of Design, Art Institute of Chicago, Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, and had a 1940 solo at 15 Gallery, NYC. Condition excellent for age, a few tiny touch ups to edges of canvas covered by framing, framing with minor finish blemishes.
