A multi-scale BTB model as interpreted by Bass Workshop The Ibanez BTB series aims to achieve both a solid and solid bass note that will never be lost in a band ensemble and a long sustain thanks to its 35-inch extra-long scale and through-neck structure. While keeping the basic concept intact, the BTB-MS is a multi-scale model that focuses on clarity in the low string range, compatibility with down-tunes and heavy gauge strings, and ease of fingering in the high fret range. Unlike the SR-MS, which was developed with the theme of "multi-scale that is easy to play for many people" from the beginning of the BASS Workshop, the BTB-MS uses a 37-inch bass string side ⇔ 35-inch treble string side, and although it is not for all bassists, it is a "stoic bass" that highlights the low range that the bass is originally responsible for and pursues the possibilities of sound and phrasing in the high range that the bass can cover to the limit. ■Through-neck construction that combines long sustain, rich resonance, and high rigidity The 5-piece neck combines maple, which has a clear sound image and rich attack, with hard walnut. The graphite rod installed inside the neck strengthens the rigidity. The long sustain and rich resonance provided by the through-neck construction, as well as the seamless playing feel of the neck back across all frets, are the greatest features of the BTB bass. ■6th string side: 37"~1st string side: 34.5" Extra-long multi-scale By setting the scale of the low-B string (6th string) to 37”, the bass strings have a stronger tension than the regular model BTB, which is effective in providing clarity and a core sound when tuned down. This is the most extremely fan-shaped multi-scale of all Ibanez basses, and is particularly advantageous for technical fingering in the high fret range. (Note: This requires practice and getting used to it, and is not common to all players or playing styles.) ■Poplar bass Laminated wing body made of oak wood and ash The wing body sandwiching the neck is made of laminated ash wood with good sound quality and clear sound characteristics, okoume wood with rich mid-low range characteristics, and poplar wood with unique burl grain glued to the top. The deep cutaway style of the body contributes to ease of playing in high positions, and the shape and design of the horn are designed with good balance when playing standing up in mind. ■Ibanez T1 Pickup This is a humbucker with two original separate coils designed to achieve a sound with tight bass response, punchy midrange, and clear treble. The rounded cover edge makes it easy to place your fingers on, and the ends of the two pickups are slightly offset so that they are almost parallel to the strings, providing a high level of playability not found in other multi-scale models. ■MR5S (monorail) bridge with string pitch adjustment mechanism Each string has an independent bridge, which transmits string vibration directly to the body. In addition, the saddle can move ±1.5mm left and right, allowing you to freely set the string pitch to a certain range. ■Active 3-band EQ & EQ bypass switch This equalizer produces a wide-range, low-noise active sound, and the mid-range frequency band can be switched between 250Hz, 450Hz, and 700Hz by flipping the switch.
