Description: "If he hadn't been a tough operator, Jimmy Bond would never have risked a weekend with a woman who used her magnificent body as a weapon to destroy him . . . " from the back cover. This is a beautiful and rare first American edition of Ian Fleming's very first James Bond novel You Asked For It (a.k.a Casino Royale) published by Popular Library. And it is in excellent shape. A previous owner separated the fantastic wraps from the pages to protect their condition. They can be easily reattached, if you so choose. As you can see from the photos, the colors are very bright on the cover. The pages have some age tone, but are very clean and tight. There is some minor wear/bumps to the spine and two small creases: one to the bottom left of the front cover and one to the top right of the back. This is a pretty remarkable book. See photos. Protected in a heavy duty Brodart Plasti-Kleer sleeve. Popular Library 660, April 1955. Thanks for looking!
