The first was the all new design of the Dodge Challenger and Plymouth Barracuda models. The second was that these 1970-1974 E-bodies and also 1971-1974 B-bodies with bucket seats with/without a center console could be had with this must have option, the Hurst Pistol Grip shifter. Hurst and Chrysler engineers had been working together for some years previously, but the new "Pistol Grip" was something of a revelation in the automotive industry. It became one of the most iconic features of both the Hurst brand and the Dodge and Plymouth cars back then.
