Description: NOS/NIP Unused Early 70s Huret Down Tube Shifter Clamp with NOS/NIP Shimano Dura Ace Housing Stops, made in France and Japan. 28.6mm clamp (1 1/8") for standard road bike down tubes. Custom clamp that has been professionally tapped from the stock French thread to M5 x 0.8 to fit standard shifter mounting bolts. Clamp will accept downtube shifters with standard M5 screws and indexed (square) back plates that seat on the square braze-on. Shifters that have indexed bushings (rectangular hole with rounded top/bottom) like Campagnolo Nuovo/Super Record, Suntour Superbe and others will not work. With this clamp as set up, you can use bar-end shifters, Integrated brake levers like Shimano STI and Campagnolo Ergopower. Downtube levers like Simplex retrofriction, Huret retrofriction, Shimano indexing levers (Dura Ace/Ultegra/105) and countless other downtube shift levers can be used as well if just using the clamp.
