Units were TESTED with conventional transformer and performed great forward, reverse, lights, sounds and smoke. Great set! PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO CHARGE OR REPLACE THE BATTERY BEFORE YOU RUN MTH PROTO TRAINS Almost all MTH Locomotives have batteries that need to be replaced or charged up BEFORE you try to operate the train.
