Description: Huge 32" Antique Socket-Head Child Doll Ernst Heubach - Köppelsdorf Original Antique Doll - Made in Germany c.1915 [ FEATURES AND DETAILS... ] Approx. 32" TallIncised: "Heubach / 302-12 / Köppelsdorf / Germany" This lovely, super-size bisque socket-head doll was made c.1915 by Ernst Heubach at his factory in Köppelsdorf; she is mold #302. She has lovely face painting, with upper and lower painted lashes, multi-stroke feathered eyebrows, delicately outlined lips, accented nostrils and corners of the eyes, and blushed cheeks. Her brown glass sleep eyes have hair lashes in excellent condition. She is on her ball-jointed, stamped "Made in Germany" composition body, and she is wearing her original pate and human hair wig. She is wearing a very nice going-out costume: an antique (or early vintage) white cotton frock with lace accents at the bodice and neck, and a pink silk-ribbon flower. Underneath, she has a full slip with lace accents, a half-slip with embroidered flowers and lots of lace, and panties. She is also wearing vintage ankle socks and tie-on oilcloth shoes that fit her quite nicely. To top it all off, she has a vintage white ribbed cotton "church hat" with beautiful embroidered edges and a corsage of flowers. Looking for a good home! [ CONDITION... ] This beautiful doll does have a few age and condition issues on close examination, and she has been bargain-priced accordingly: - Nice antique condition -- from a non-smoking environment. - As pictured, she has a stable hairline in back near the rim (under the wig). She also has what would appear to be a hairline on the side (also under the wig), but it is not; it's a mold crease that is only on the exterior of the head. - Her hair lashes are in great condition, as is her face painting. She does have a few kiln specks from the factory. - Her composition body is in good condition. There was some reinforcement added at the neck rim sometime in the past, as pictured. Also, her left pinky has a crack that goes all the way around, but it is stable. See photos of the hands. IMPORTANT: Besides the noteworthy issues mentioned above, EXPECT any antique doll (bisque/composition/leather/china/wood) to ALSO have: (1) SIGNS OF AGE - for example: toned/crazed/chipped composition, minor wig pulls, loss of "hair" lashes on bisque heads, not-so-tight stringing, etc., and ... (2) MINOR CONSERVATION WORK by previous owners/collectors - for example: reset eyes (in most cases!), repairs to wig, repairs to clothing, touch-ups on composition/finish/paint, etc. SO ... Any MAJOR issues -- hairline crack, total repaint, etc. -- would be itemized above, but these normal age/conservation details are not. They are to be expected. Thank you.PLEASE SUPERSIZE ALL PHOTOS, AND ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING/BUYING. I'LL BE GLAD TO ANSWER. [ RETURN POLICY ON DOLL LOTS... ]It is with deep regret that -- after 14 years selling on eBay, and with 100% positive feedback -- I've had to change my return policy on dolls to "NO RETURNS, AND NO PARTIAL REFUNDS."As often happens, it's the few bad apples out there who ruin it for the rest of us. These dishonest people will buy a doll, then try to improve or restore it ... not knowing what they're doing. And then, when they realize they've ruined the doll, they return it saying it was defective. Or else they keep the doll and demand a "partial refund" based on the alleged defect -- which is another trending scam on eBay.I sell these dolls for a living so, my sincere apologies to you -- the honest majority of eBay buyers -- that I can no longer afford to accept doll returns. (Of course, shipping loss or damage is a different matter; that is fully covered by insurance.)BUT HAVING SAID ALL THAT ...I do bend over backwards, attempting to disclose any noteworthy condition issues I can find or think of. But these are antique and vintage dolls -- so, please understand that they won't be in brand-new condition. There will always be some minor indication of their age, and it would be impossible to itemize every single pinhead-size stain on the outfit, or hairline scratch on the body. Please expect these types of conditions with old dolls. [Blurb required by eBay for cell phone users:] *** PLEASE VIEW THE FULL DESCRIPTION BEFORE BIDDING. IT CONTAINS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION.
