HP/Agilent 5501A Lasers >150 µW or >200 µW: These all exceed the power spec. of 120 µW for the 5501A and REF is between 1.7 and 1.8 MHz, in the middle of the spec'd range (1.5-2.0 MHz). The >200 µW laser should be suitable for a commercial application. HP/Agilent 5501B Laser Heads >375 µW and >425 µW: HP-5501Bs with original HP-5501B tubes or Keysight Z4203/N1211A tubes in very good cosmetic and functional condition. Adjustments may have been done so they fully meet 5501B specifications with REF frequencies of 1.7-1.8 MHz. The Z4203/N1211A tube is similar to HP/Agilent/Keysight 5501B/5517 tubes. HP/Agilent 5501B Laser Heads >600 µW: HP-5501Bs with a Keysight Z4203/N1211A tube in very good cosmetic and functional condition. Adjustments may have been done so this fully meet 5501B specifications with a REF frequency of 1.55 MHz. The Z4203/N1211A tube is similar to HP/Agilent/Keysight 5501B/5517 tubes.Agilent/Keysight 5517B or 5517C Laser Head >625 µW: This is an Agilent laser head in excellent physical and functional condition with an N1211A Agilent/Keysight laser tube that may be tuned to a 5517B or 5517C REF frequency upon request. The tube has a manufacturing date of 2012 but appears to have seen relatively little use. The N1211A is virtually identical to the 5517B/C tube and I guarantee it will meet all 5517B/C specifications. The beam size is 6 mm but it may be possible to convert it to 3 mm or 9 mm pending availability of suitable beam expanders. The laser is in excellent functional condition with a measured output power after full warmup when locked (READY solid) of more than 600 µW if 5517C or 650 µW if 5517B. It locks normally with clean REF and MEAS signals, and has been tested fully by Laser Sam of Sam's Laser FAQ (Google will find it) in a monitored interferometer setup for at least 8 hours. The photos above are typical, but it is in excellent cosmetic condition, showing at most minor scratches on the cover from previous use. Standard metal feet will be included upon request free of charge. There is no serial number on the laser because it was put together from parts and any SN on the back-plate would only apply to the back-plate. :) The cost would be much higher if the label on the tube had the part number for a "5517B" or "5517C". :) NOTE: There is only currently a single laser with these power specs. It will be configured to be a 5517B or 5517C when sold, so you must select the desired model. Sort of like Schrödinger's Cat. ;-) Agilent/Keysight 5517D-C19 Laser Head >310 µW: This is an Agilent 5517D-C19 laser head with an Agilent tube from 2013 in excellent physical and functional condition. It has a 9 mm beam but this can be converted to 6 mm for a modest charge. It may also be converted to any other standard REF 5517D (mostly case/foot style or shroud with or without vents) free pending availability. It is in excellent functional condition with a measured output power after warmup when locked (READY solid) of more than 310 µW and REF of around 3.75 MHz. (The listed new power was 400 µW with a REF of 3.7 MHz.) It locks normally with clean REF and MEAS signals, and has been tested fully by Laser Sam of Sam's Laser FAQ (Google will find it) in a monitored interferometer setup for at least 8 hours The photos above are of a typical Agilent laser but the actual one for sale will be very similar. It is in excellent cosmetic condition, showing at most minor scratches and/or dings on the cover from normal wear. Standard metal feet will be included. It can also be converted to a 5517C, 6 or 9 mm. The power would be slightly higher. Inquire if interested. Since various adjustments have been made to this laser to restore it to specifications, it is NOT recommended for use as a long term replacement in a production environment, but could serve as a low cost emergency spare since it should meet all Agilent specifications. Agilent/Keysight 5517D-C15 Laser Head >80 µW: This is an Agilent 5517D-C15 laser head in excellent physical and functional condition. The output power is >80 µW (spec is only 50 µW) with a REF frequency of around 5 MHz. It has a 6 mm beam but this can be converted to 9 mm for a modest charge. The label power is 120 µW. Agilent/Keysight 5517D-N07-009 Laser Head >210 µW: This is a laser head (transducer) with an Agilent 5517D-N07-009 laser tube having an output power of well over 210 µW (spec is 120 µW) and REF of around 4.4 MHz after full warmup. 9 mm beam, may be converted to 6 mm. It has been fully tested in an interferometer setup by Laser Sam of Sam's Laser FAQ for a minimum of 8 hours. Agilent/Keysight 5517DL-006 Laser Head >275 µW: This is an Agilent laser head (transducer) with an Agilent 5517DL-006 laser tube having an output power of well over 275 µW (spec is 120 µW) and REF of greater than 4.6 MHz (spec is >4.5 MHz) after full warmup. 6 mm beam, may be converted to 9 mm. It has been fully tested in an interferometer setup by Laser Sam of Sam's Laser FAQ for a minimum of 8 hours. Agilent/Keysight 5517E laser head >100 µW: This is an Agilent/Keysight 5517E laser head (transducer) with an output power of well over 100 µW (spec is 65 µW) and REF of around 6 MHz after full warmup. It has been fully tested in an interferometer setup by Laser Sam of Sam's Laser FAQ for a minimum of 8 hours. The photo above is of the actual taser for sale. The 5517E is used in some of the highest performance metrology applications due to its REF resulting in stage slew rates in excess of 1.6 m/s second with linear interferometer optics. It may be possible to convert this to a 5517EL, or possibly even a 5517F/FL. Inquire if interested. Note that this laser has the "Type III" control PCB (third pic) and may take over 10 minutes to lock. This is normal. The Type III control PCB is NOT the same as the ones normally provided by Agilent and Keysight since around 2004, and may have been used for special applications or for a specific customer. It has an RS232 port, though the command set is not known. It may be possible to substitute a normal control PCB if that matters to you. Agilent/Keysight 5517EL laser head >125 µW: Similar to above but 5517EL with normal Type II control PCB. The output power is over 125 µW (spec is 65 µW) and REF of around 6 MHz after full warmup. It has been fully tested in an interferometer setup by Laser Sam of Sam's Laser FAQ for a minimum of 8 hours. For lasers like this, the best option is to send your dead laser to have its tube replaced. Then the case configuration will be guaranteed to match. Agilent/Keysight 5517FL Laser Head >110 µW: This is an Agilent/Keysight 5517FL laser head (transducer) with an output power of well over 100 µW (spec is 65µW) and REF of around 7.3 MHz after full warmup. Inquire if interested. 5517 Optical Frequency Reference Laser Head - Narrow Beam: These are Agilent/Keysight 5517 lasers with an output power greater than 500 µW, intended for use in a research/educational setting as an absolute optical frequency (wavelength) reference and are configured with a ~1 mm beam diameter generally desirable for use in experiments. (This can be changed.) The output of these lasers should be within +/-10 MHz of the published optical frequency specifications of 473.612234 THz (corresponding to a vacuum wavelength of 632.991372 nm). Because of the way 5517 locking is implemented, the optical frequency is adjustment-free and will remain accurate over the life of the laser. This performance is not matched by any other affordable commercial laser. While these are also two frequency lasers like standard 5517s, the F1/F2 components are under 2 MHz apart so the coherence length is still >100 meters. And a polarizer can be used to select only one for an even longer coherence length. While this option may be disabled, inquire if interested.
