The work dates back to the late 19th century and originates from when the Frigate Jylland served as a barracks and training ship between 1892 and 1908. Fine and rare depiction of the famous Frigate Jylland. She is one of the world's largest wooden warships, and is both a screw-propelled steam frigate and a sailship. She took part in the Battle of Heligoland on 9 May 1864, and is preserved today as a museum ship in Denmark. Jylland is the last surviving screw frigate in the world. The work is framed with glass in a fine golden frame from the early 20th century. Lübbers is known for his both naturalistic and impressionist seascapes, harbor scenes from and from the coast of north Zealand.
