Description: Here is a Hofner 1958 500/1 Reissue with black binding and a maple/black purfling with a brunette (sunburst) varnish finish. Super rare combination for a violin bass. (I’ve never seen this option on any other 500/1) This bass was made in 2022 and is completely unique compared to the 58 reissues of the late 2000’s which had black binding with a white/black purfling. This bass is beautiful and sounds amazing but unfortunately it has a few dings here and there as seen in the pictures. Also it has a flat back just like the early 500/1’s did. The bass has light gauge Labella tape wounds on it now but the factory pyramid base strings are included.
