The model 2505 is a 24VA regulated multi-output power supply designed to be used with electric strikes and other solenoid or coil actuated electro-mechanical locking devices. This product is not intended for use with electro-magnetic locks. 2505 Power Punch A brand new concept for access control. The model 2505 is the only power supply designed to actually improve the performance and extend the life of electric strikes and other electro-mechanical locking devices. Operation: Upon actuation, the model 2505 will supply a maximum 38-volt millisecond "power punch" to the electric strike, to enhance the unlocking force of the unit, without harming the solenoid. This will improve the electric strike's performance when operating under pre-load conditions. The unique "low hold" feature of the model 2505 utilizes patented Smart-Pac™ technology to extend the life of the electric strike's solenoid. After the initial "power punch", the holding voltage is reduced to approximately 75% of the electric strike's nominal voltage. (For 12-volt operation, the holding voltage is reduced to 9 VDC, and for 24-volt operation, the holding voltage is reduced to 18 VDC.) This allows the locking unit to remain energized continuously for extended periods without heat build up, which is the main cause of electrical failures in electric strikes. The model 2505 has three separate zones to provide three levels of power output and function. Zone 1 provides power for 4 "power punch" (high-punch, low-hold) outputs, for operating electric strikes or other solenoid-actuated devices. Zone 2 provides power for 4 auxiliary outputs, for operating associated access control components (i.e. key pads, etc.), which require regulated 12 or 24 volts DC.
