Description: In addition to the medals he produced for collectors Robert McNamara produced medals mostly for Cleveland, Ohio area coin clubs but he also did one for the Daytona Beach Numismatic Club in 1974 to commemorate their 25th Anniversary. In my opinion, I believe this to be the rarest of all of his medals. The Daytona Beach Numismatic Club which was founded in 1949 is no longer in existence. I don't know what year the club ceased to exist but I made trips to Daytona and talked to members of the Daytona Beach Coin Club and was unable to find out any information on the DBNC history. I don't know how long it existed after it's 25th Anniversary. I don't know who contacted Robert or how the contact came to pass. I also have no idea of how many of these medals were struck Robert's records were destroyed after his death so this is one of the mysteries that may never be solved as far as Robert's works. Still, every time I go to Daytona I keep looking and hoping to find someone who can shed some light on the mystery. I do know that very few of these medals have been graded by NGC or PCGS and this is one of the finest known.
