NaviLED 360 LED All Round Lamps 2NM 04/26/2010 Light on Yamaha The St. MaryГЄs College of MD Crew rows very early (5:00am or so) in the darkness. The NaviLED360 LED All Round Lamp custom mounted atop our Crew Club safety skiff outboard. This can be done because the LED is vibration resistant, whereas a regular bulb would burn out in no time. I wired it to the voltage regulator output using a diode to keep the battery from back-feeding the light but so it still gets a charge. The light comes on whenever the motor is running and shuts off when it is not. This keeps the kids from running the batteries down and lets us know from shore the boat is running, reduces the opportunity for the light to be broken off a cheap aluminum stalk and sent overboard by inexperienced operators, & gives us some redundancy- one of the two light systems is bound to be working.
