Use all three as decorations throughout the fall and then turn them into delicious meals or animal feed. The Sugar/Pie Pumpkin- 100 days, 2-7 lbs, Round to round-flat, deep orange with distinct ribs, ornamental with excellent eating quality. Best used for pie filling, breads, and other pumpkin based recipes Connecticut Field -120 days, 15-25 lbs, fruit measures 12-20" in diameter. This is an old heirloom variety with an interesting history dating back to the Native Americans. Traditionally grown in fields after the corn was harvested. Used for hog/cattle feed (chickens love them too!), possibly for making beer and is considered the original Halloween pumpkin. Can be cooked and eaten, but not preferred. Jarrahdale- 100 days, 17-22 lbs, Heirloom variety from the town of Jarrahdale, New Zealand. Green to Grey colored outside with deep orange inside. Fruit is mild, slightly sweet, almost fruity. Extremely long-lasting. Some sites say fruit will keep up to 1 year. *Zero-waste harvesting* Only the healthiest pumpkins are selected for seeds. Seeds are harvested, washed, and sorted by hand, then layed out on screens to air dry in a temperature and humidity controlled environment for 30-60 days to prevent mold growth. The pumpkin fruits are fed to our flock of free-range poultry. Plant greens are fed to the cattle. Anything left of the skins, stems, and fruit is transferred to the composter and added back to the garden the following year. All seeds are grown and harvested for the 2022 growing season in the TN/KY area. Due to the vast difference in growing conditions across the United States, we can not guarantee that all plants will grow well in all areas. Please check your specific zone for best planting and harvesting dates, soil amendment/fertilizer needs, and pest / disease prevention guidelines/best practices. Thank you for looking. Happy Planting!!
