Description: This historic hand-painted roofing slate depicts a street lamp with the name "BOURBON ST". The artist initials NB are signed on the base of the lamp post. On the back of the slate is a typewritten history of the roofing tiles, explaining the history, timelines, and dates behind it. The slate tile has nail holes on it where it was attached to the roof of a building or home in the French Quarter district of New Orleans, Louisiana. This is a vintage item from several decades ago judging by the typewritten card on the back. It does show some wear due to age on the painting itself. Please see photos for a more detailed description. Measures about 11" tall and 4" wide. The hanging string could easily be replaced with a leather shoelace or other type hanger if preferred.
