Seen as an exercise in vanity by many, this film both starred and was directed by Laurence Olivier. Though the reception by critics was varied, the film did go on to earn many grand awards including the Oscar for Best Picture of 1948 (the first British produced film to do so). This poster is from the first release in Belgium in the late Forties. It features simple yet stunning artwork of Olivier as the title character. This poster does not come up for sale or auction very often. Partially trimmed top white border contains remnants of imprinted theater exhibition information. A few small tears and bumps in surrounding borders not affecting artwork. Two tax stamps affixed in lower right artwork area. Artwork is intact and vivid. Folded as originally issued, this poster has been stored flat for the past 19 years and will be shipped rolled in a sturdy tube or box.
