It's not a dark as black enamel and is a commonly used color in pen making. Do not confuse this with Gun Metal Gray which is a much lighter shade of gray used by other manufacturers. To make this kit, you will need a wood turning lathe and common tools used for turning pens and theseRequired Accessories:- 7 mm pen mandrel- 2 piece Bushing Set (included with 3, 5, and 10 Packs or sold separately)- 3/8’’ Drill Bit- Universal Barrel Trimmer 3/8 shaft- 2 part epoxy glue or Super glue (cyanoacrylate)- Minimum Pen Blank size: 5/8”x 2-1/4” PLEASE READ: Some people have mistakenly assumed that this kit can be simply snapped together and includes all parts and tools needed. This is a woodturning kit. As such, you must have a wood lathe and appropriate tools to complete the assembly of this kit. You may need turning bushings, which are sold separately unless indicated otherwise above. This kit DOES NOT include the material you will need to turn on the wood lathe, namely the wood, acrylic, Corian or other suitable material that is to be turned by you. You must supply that material. It includes the parts in the pictures. If you do not understand how to use a lathe and associated tools, then please do not order this kit. It cannot be assembled without the proper tools and knowledge. Instructions are included that someone familiar with woodturning will be able to follow. The picture of the assembled kit is only one example of what you can produce, but the look of the assembled kit will depend on the material you choose to turn.
