She became the head of the Croquis school in Copenhagen and member of the Royal Charlottenborg's Spring and Autumn Exhibition, and 1959-66 a member of the Academy Council. Gudrun Elisabeth Lorenzen was in Odense, Denmark in 1904 and died unmarried in 1968. An illness inhibited her in the 1960s, so most of her works are from the 1950s and before. Lorenzen was educated at the Royal Art Acedemy in Copenhagen in 1925 and pupil of professor Aksel Jorgensen and Ejnar Nielsen until 1930. She debuted at the Royal Fall Show in Copenhagen in 1929 and recived the Royal Academy Gold Mediallion twize in 1933 and 1956. She worked and traveled in France, Spain and Italy from 1930-1933, but the majority of her works were Danish landscapes and figure studies. In her landscapes she worked intensely with the simplification of the forms in muted, Danish Nordic Noir, dark colors. Shipping fees: United States/ Canada: 40 dollars.
