Description: This Gretsch G2220 Upgraded Junior Jet Bass II is a perfect choice for beginners or intermediate level players. The bass has a short scale body type with a walnut fretboard. So, why am I selling it? This is what happens when you buy things in a hurry. I wanted a short scale semi-hollow bodied bass. I got it half correct. It is definitely a short scale bass, but it is a solid body. Nonetheless, I wanted to upgrade it from the condition in which it reached me, so, I changed the machine heads to Fleor tuning machines (similar in style to HIpshot Ultralights, just not as light), changed the bridge to an adjustable bridge, added an active Artec preamp (and an additional Gretsch knob). Most importantly, I upgraded the pickups from the mediocre single coil pickups (both bridge pickups) to the excellent Artec humbuckers. Sounds lots better and works lots better too. There are some very light scratches on the bottom front of the bass. These are shown in the very last picture. Other than that I cannot find a mark or scratch on it, but just to be safe, I am rating the condition Very Good, although I think it is closer to Excellent. I am prepared to lose money on this, so go easy on me when you make me an offer. These usually sell for around $300 new. I have about $80 in upgrades. This is a great sounding bass which would be perfect for someone with weight issues or hand size, and is definitely a good one for beginners. Lots of bang for the buck. Anyway, if you have any questions or want to see more pictures, please ask before making an offer or buying. I have provided a link to a YouTube video, but there are LOTS of video and text online reviews. The sign, by the way, came from Temu.com, source of many bass-related items that I have spent WAY too much money on. lol. Thanks for looking!
